Heaven Shining Through by Joe Siccardi–Book Review

Book Description

Samantha is dreading her return home. Throughout her life, she had a rocky relationship with her mother – and now her mother is all she has left.

Through a nostalgic look back, Samantha recognizes the presence of God in an ordinary life. She learns more about herself as a wife and mother who has had her share of sorrow and blessings.

As her faith increases, she is able to see her mother through new eyes, leading to reconciliation … and is reminded of that every time she sees Heaven Shining Through.

My Review

I thoroughly enjoyed this short novella. I loved the characters; they were well developed and had their own faults. As you go back with Samantha as she looks back over her life, you see her mature spiritually. She had a rough relationship with her mother, but eventually as an adult, she finally can see that her mother does love her despite the way she chose to show it as a child. I was kind of sad to see the story end so soon, I feel like I could have kept reading Samantha’s story for way longer. Overall, I loved the story and the characters, and I definitely recommend this novella!

DISCLAIMER–there are very few instances in this book with mild language, like I could count it on one hand the instances, but I want to be completely open with you in case that is a factor for anybody wanting to check the book out 🙂
