My Review of Lies Girls Believe

In today’s society, it is so important that we show our girls the truth about themselves. The world will fill their heads with lies, if we as mothers don’t equip them with the truth, who will? Their friends won’t, the world won’t, the world will tell them they’re not beautiful unless they look a certain way, weigh a certain number, act a certain way, dress a certain way, but what does God say? I loved this book, and can’t wait until my daughter is old enough to go through it. It says it’s recommended for girls 8-12, or tweens, my daughter is 7 right now, and I’m thinking I’ll wait until she’s at least 10 as there are still topics addressed I just don’t think she’s ready for yet. Every girl is different though, so I would read through it and see if your daughter is ready for those tougher topics. I highly recommend this book!

My Review of the Mom’s Guide to Lies Girls Believe

If you are going to have your girls read Lies Girls Believe, I believe it is imperative that you get the Mom’s Guide to go through it with your daughter. The Mom’s Guide not only has a copy of your daughter’s book in it, but has notes for you, the mom, to help you discuss each chapter’s contents with your daughter. It is very helpful! As I was going through it, I made notes to address when I go through it with my daughters in a few years. (Especially since I have 2 daughters a few years apart, those notes will come in handy!) I highly recommend you get the whole set so you can help your daughter on her journey to conquering the lies Satan will throw at them as they grow into Godly young women!
