This activity book is perfect for children of all ages. If you want it for your own children or just for activity/coloring pages for using in your Sunday School class. I was very impressed with the variety of activities in this book. I mean typically you get a book like this and it’s a lot of coloring pages with pretty much the same types of activities throughout the book, but as you can see from my pictures below, there are beautiful coloring pages, secret code activities, word searches, dot-to-dots, acrostics, and there are many, many more. According to the back of the book there are more than 200 coloring pages, and more than 150 activity pages in this book.

I know my kids are going to love doing the activities in this book. I love it because it reinforces the Bible stories I’ve been teaching them about. Another feature I was impressed with was that this book is arranged in chronological order with references to where you can find the story for each coloring page/activity page in the Bible. I highly recommend this book for parents and teachers alike, it will be an amazing resource for anybody who is teaching kids, their own or just in general. I will say that any verses that are quoted in this book are in the Christian Standard Bible version. I personally use the King James Version so I will just change those when I use them to my preferred version, but I wanted to let others know in case that’s a deciding factor for you.

Eight Twenty Eight by Ian & Larissa Murphy–Book Review

20150905_101203I first heard of Ian and Larissa Murphy when I saw their story in a YouTube video shared on Facebook a few years ago. I was touched by their story and wanted to hear more. I found out about the book they wrote and quickly jumped at the chance to read it. Eight Twenty Eight is their story, their love story, the story of how “love didn’t give up.”

This is one of the best books I’ve read. I love true stories, and this story is unlike any other story I’ve ever read! I love how open Ian and Larissa are. I love how transparent she is when writing about what they went through. Her love truly does show the love our Savior shows to us each and every day. So many people nowadays faced with the same circumstances would have simply walked away, but she chose to stay because she love him. It was hard, and she conveys the struggles she went through, but she relies on God to help her through. I highly recommend this book! It will really touch your heart.

Portraits of Devotions by Beth Moore–Book Review

20150806_175015This 366 day devotional book comes from Moore’s Personal Reflection Series on David, Jesus, John, and Paul. It’s designed to draw the Christian closer to God by studying a different aspect of these lives of devotion to God.

I have been reading this devotional for about a month now, and I can say I love it. I can’t wait to continue through it for the rest of the year. It is laid out like many devotionals I’ve read, but I love the lessons learned each day through a peak into the lives of these great Christian men. I have learned a lot of new things through my study so far, and look forward to what else I’ll learn in the days and weeks ahead. The book itself is beautiful, the cover is imitation leather, and is complete with a built in bookmark. If you are looking for a great devotional to give someone, this would make a great gift.

The Frazzled Female by Cindi Wood–Book Review

11025719_10153128241099467_5634998527292323584_nI’m sure most women can relate. You have so much on your plate, so much to do and you are in a word, frazzled. You have to make dinner, take care of the house, take care of the kids, go to work, etc. So much to do and so little time to do it. Cindi Wood has created The Frazzled Female to help you become what she calls “victoriously frazzled.” Yes, you may still be frazzled after reading this book, but she shows you how you can be less stressed and have a deeper relationship with God.

This book was amazing! I loved each and every chapter. I found myself frequently saying to myself, “yep, that’s me. I’m guilty of that.” She shows just how important it is for us to have not just a surface relationship with God, but a deep relationship with God. If we will commit to having a deeper relationship with Him, He will help you deal with the frazzled moments of your life, and you might just end up being “victoriously frazzled.” I highly recommend this for every woman, especially if you feel like you are juggling way to much and completely overwhelmed.
