The Things We Knew by Catherine West–Book Review

27840648Lynette Carlisle is struggling to take care of her father whose health is failing and make enough money to keep them afloat. When she goes to the bank for help, she finds her old friend Luke Cooper and is distraught by the news he gives her. When her siblings come home to help and discuss their options tensions run high, because most of them blame their father for their mother’s death. In the meantime, old feelings are surfacing in her heart and she is increasingly falling in love with Luke, but will old secrets ruin their budding relationship and possibly tear his family apart? Can they work together to save her family home?

I really enjoyed this book! The characters and storyline were very well-developed. I found myself so drawn into the story I could empathize with the characters. I could see the story in my mind as I was reading. I don’t know if you would call this a suspense or mystery, but there is some mystery in that Lynette is trying to remember her past, and has mysterious dreams se can’t explain as she’s trying to remember the past she forgot. Overall, this was an awesome book, and I highly recommend it.
