Mallory’s father’s last words to her on the phone were “Find…mother,” but her mother died 15 years ago. The sheriff believes it was an accident, but Mallory and her friend, game warden Kevin O’Connor, believe otherwise. As they begin to search for answers and threats to Mallory’s own life emerge, they are forced to deal with their past. Can they move past their past and work together to find out the truth about her father’s death?
This book captivates you from the very first chapter. The characters were very well developed, and it felt like you could really relate to them. I felt drawn into the story, like I was searching with them. I love the unexpected little twists that are thrown into the book. This is the second in the Sunset Cove Series, but you can read it as a stand alone novel. I haven’t yet read the first one and I didn’t feel as though I was missing anything. That being said, I need to go find the first one because I can’t wait to read the whole series!
