“A man will allow his woman many, many faults, as long as he knows that she thinks he is great.”–Debi Pearl, Created to be His Help Meet (Chapter 14)
We are to respect our husband. According to Mrs. Pearl, reverence means we are extremely thankful that our husbands have chosen to love us the way we are. We ought to then love our husbands for who they are. Show your husband respect, don’t disrespect him, especially in public. In public, we ought to build our husbands up to everyone we meet. I know from experience, it’s so easy to fall into the trap especially when you’re with other women, of talking about your husband and your recent argument or how he’s annoying you. We should not allow ourselves to do this. Have you ever seen a woman treat her husband terribly in public? You know that woman at the mall who is yelling at her husband and demanding something of him so everyone around her can hear. I know what I think when I see this scenario, that poor man, and what an awful woman. Seriously wait until you get home if you need to fight!! I do not want to be that couple. Though I may fail, I strive to speak only positively about my husband, and definitely steer away from disrespecting/embarrassing him especially in public.
