This is by far my favorite chapter in the whole book Created to be His Help Meet! I love how Mrs. Pearl puts it, “Wisdom is knowing what you ‘bought’ when you married that man and learning to adapt to him as he is, not as you want him to be.” How true is that? She describes the 3 types of men in the chapter. She explains that most men are a combination, but tend to be more exemplary of one in particular. I’ll try to sum up each type as best I can.
The first type of man is “Mr. Command Man.” These are the types of men that love to be the leaders and they like to be waited on. Mrs. Pearl suggests that wives of these types of men should praise his accomplishments and honor their husbands.
The second type of man is “Mr. Visionary.” This is my husband to a “T”, in fact, when reading the description of this type of man in the book, it’s like she hacked into my life and pulled out a specific scenario that my husband would do! These are the men who come up with plans, invent things, they’ll up and move just whenever the mood strikes them and worry about a job when they get there. I love the following quote from page 81:
“He may never be rich in money, but he will be rich in experience.” –Debi Pearl, Created to be His Help Meet
She suggests that the wife of these types of men should just “enjoy the ride.” They need to be loyal no matter what.
The third type of man she mentions is “Mr. Steady.” This is the stable, content man who is content to serve and be in the background instead of in the lead. She suggests that his wife learn to pray for him and have wisdom and patience with him.
This does not even begin to touch on everything she goes into with the types of men. Again I highly recommend you buy your copy or see if your library has a copy and read this book, so much information that will help your marriage!
