We continue to look at joy in this chapter. By honoring our husbands we are honoring God. If we are not thankful, we will not be joyful. Mrs. Pearl says that we need to “live with thanksgiving, forgiveness, and joy, and enjoy all your moments as if they were your last.” This is not just important for our marriage, but in life in general. If you noticed in the previous chapters I talked about learning a lot about learning to be thankful and content for what you have and where you are in life. This is something I struggle with on a daily basis. I want to be thankful and content, but it’s one of those things that is easier said than done. Every day I need to pray that God would help me to be thankful and content so that I will have the strength to actually do it and live that way, and more often than I’d like to admit I fail at this. I’m sure I’m not the only wife and mother that feels this way, I’m sure I’m not the only woman who feels this way. Let’s make it our goal to be content so that we can be so full of joy it will spill over to our husbands and children.
